About Us

Founded in 1976, the Chinese Dance Workshop (CDW) is registered as a charitable and non-profit organization managed by a dedicated team of volunteers. Its major goal is to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Chinese dance in Canada by providing a forum for training and presenting works to the public.

Students at the Chinese Dance Workshop not only acquire training in the beautiful art form of traditional Chinese dance, but also learn self-discipline, cooperation with others, and respect for each other and their community. Over the years, the Chinese Dance Workshop has engaged in and continues to be involved in, numerous cultural and community events to promote Canada's multicultural heritage and share the traditional arts with a broader audience.
